The Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) and the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO) are pleased to announce the inaugural EANO-SNO Joint Meeting on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology, to be held June 24–26, 2027, at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort in Miami, Florida.
The meeting marks an important milestone in the evolution of international pediatric neuro-oncology education and collaboration. Building upon the success of the biennial SNO Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Meeting, which was first established in 2011, the 2027 meeting will be the first to be jointly organized by SNO and EANO.
As an official collaboration between the two leading neuro-oncology societies, the EANO-SNO Joint Meeting on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology will bring together clinicians, researchers, scientists, trainees, and allied health professionals from around the world to share advances in basic, translational, and clinical research aimed at improving outcomes for children and adolescents with central nervous system tumors.
The meeting will continue on a biennial schedule, alternating between North America and Europe, reflecting the global nature of the pediatric neuro-oncology community and the shared commitment of SNO and EANO to advancing education and research worldwide.
“This partnership is a natural progression of the strong relationship that has developed between SNO and EANO over the past several years,” said Eva Galanis, MD, President of the Society for Neuro-Oncology. “Our organizations recently joined together to launch Neuro-Oncology Pediatrics, a journal dedicated exclusively to advancing pediatric neuro-oncology research and education. The success of that collaboration demonstrated the value of combining our expertise and resources to serve the global pediatric neuro-oncology community. Expanding our partnership to include this meeting was a logical next step that we believe will benefit patients and families around the world.”
Michael Platten, MD, President of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology, echoed this sentiment. “The launch of Neuro-Oncology Pediatrics highlighted the shared vision of EANO and SNO to advance pediatric neuro-oncology through global collaboration,” said Dr. Platten. “The inaugural EANO-SNO Joint Meeting on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology represents an exciting new chapter in that partnership. Together, we are creating a truly international forum that will strengthen connections among investigators, clinicians, and trainees across continents. The 2027 meeting will continue the tradition of excellence established by previous SNO Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Meetings while expanding opportunities for participation and engagement across the global neuro-oncology community. The program will feature state-of-the-art scientific sessions, educational presentations, abstract-driven research, multidisciplinary discussions, and networking opportunities focused on the most pressing challenges and promising developments in pediatric neuro-oncology.
